Sitting Down is Killing You

I thought this was a good piece of information to share with you. I'm definitely guilty of sitting down all day: first in my car, then at my desk, back in my car, then back at home. Maybe I should be a dog-walker! :D

Very interesting - and scary! Especially the part about exercising remaing constant, sitting increasing and obesity doubling. I wonder if there is any cause and effect research demonstrating the relationship.

I had seen an article on Yahoo about this recently. It mentioned that when you sit for too long, you develop gluteal amnesia. Scary words!!

This is depressing, but perhaps I better lie down.

Oh, and I'd really like to know what butt amnesia is. Your butt has a concussion, or what?

I've heard that sitting on one of the large exercise balls instead of in a desk chair is helpful. It's probably that you need to use your core muscles for balance.

Getting up and moving around is vital.

I spend way to much table sitting while working on jewelry and this computer. Didn't know that it was OK to lounge though....Thanks for the great info.

WOW! This is astounding! I'm surprised I haven't died yet in this case. Between office work, playing with clay, and computer work....I sit A LOT!!!

I am guilty too. Setting all day and I am lucky I didn't die yet lol. I didn't know that is the right way we have to sit the 135 degree.
thanks for sharing

Great info makes you think a lot about sitting. As I sit here on the computer after sitting at work all day. I am gonna print this off and take it to work to share. ;)

Wow! That's really important info! I had no idea that the risks were still higher even if you workout regularly. Thanks for the info.

Funny I read this while sitting in my computer chair. Maybe blog Wednesdays is a bad idea even if they are fun to read.
