Regrets at the End of Life

At some point in our lives, we begin looking back and thinking, if I were younger, I would have done this or that, spent more time on this or that. And as more time passes, what we think we should have spent more time on also changes. Well, I found this blog post by Bronnie Ware on Inspiration and Chai, who shares the top five regrets of the dying from her time working in palliative care with patients who spent the last weeks of their lives with her.

Sunday Linky Party #56 + Goodies

It's spring which means it's time to get out your gardening gloves and test how green that thumb of yours is. Live in an urban environment with no outdoor space? You can still grow a few herbs on your window sill for those special home-made dinner occasions. I found this great article that teaches you how to start plants from seeds. For even more (and simpler) veggie-growing tips, read Sew & Dipity's post (featured below) and what to use a seed trays without spending any money. Have a great Sunday!

These round paper lanterns are not hard to get (I've gotten a few at Ikea before), and now you can add texture and softness to them with 'A Casarella's beautiful petal lantern tutorial!

How Pets See the World

I have been wanting to get a dog for the longest time, but it was never the right time or situation, until... soon :) I'm very excited to say that, in the next several months or so, I will be able to have the location and right situation to finally provide a dog of my own with a nice home! More on that later. I've also been searching Petfinder.com and have a few favorites, although they may not be around for adoption by the time I'm able to commit. Oh well. Check out this cool infographic I found on Yahoo.com about the way animals see the world.

Sunday Linky Party #55 + Goodies

Yesterday was Saint Patrick's Day! Anyone have corned beef and lots of beer (as is the American tradition? Or at least it is around here...) Too bad it's been raining non-stop for the past four days though. Anyway, I found a saucy article on Cracked.com calling out the ways we celebrate the holiday, which you can check out here, if you'd like. Caution: watch out for salty language and proceed with a generous sense of humor :)

Now, onto this week's gallery of amazing projects and recipes!

If you have a bunch of yarn for some reason and don't know how to knit (kind of like me), you can still make a really cool scarf, like this easy no-knit spring cowl, by A Crafty House. It's super cute, it looks really polished, and I need something to do with my yarn!

Inspiring Masterpieces Made From Books

I came across these gorgeous works of art through an intro to Guy Laramee from the Abduzeedo website. Aren't they seriously awe-inspiring? I'm intrigued enough to try my own hand at this, but it may be a disaster :) Check out more beautiful landscapes created from old books, below!

Sunday Linky Party #54 + Goodies

Hope you've all realized, but it's Day Light Savings Time again, which means we've lost an hour today! :( One less hour of sleep... sigh. Anyway, please check out all the recipes this week because they were again, sooo amazing and hard to choose from! And now onto the gallery!

This piece of wall art is seriously gorgeous! I really want to make this and put it front and center on my living room wall, once I have my own house, that is :) Head over to Hell on Heels Housewife for the great tutorial!

How Do You Spend Your Time Online?

If you're like me (and possibly like most people who have the internet), you probably spend a lot of time on social media sites. With so many choices out there, ever wonder what people use the most? Here's an informative infographic from ZDNet that gives us a look into the amount of time people spend on the different networking sites out there!

Sunday Linky Party #53 + Goodies

I've been wanting to raise some chickens, so this weekend, I've been doing some research on how to build a chicken coop. The many coop kits out there are a little out of my price range, plus, as a crafty person, I really should build it myself! Anyway, I should really do more research. Anyone else have experience raising chickens and have some good advice?

Anyway, check out this week's gallery!

Isn't this pleated pillow pretty amazing? It looks like something you'd find in Antropologie or some other quirky store. The great thing is, this pattern and tutorial (which you usually have to pay for) is free to download from March 1-23! So get it now while it's free at Craft Buds!
