Are You Affected by the Weather?

I can't believe that it's September already! I love summer because I love the hot temperatures, sunshine, and longer days. Now it's all coming to an end as autumn slowly (or actually, rapidly) approaches. Just thinking about it makes me a little sad. I've noticed that my mood is directly affected by the weather and I think that's the case for many many people. Have you ever felt that your moods are tied to the weather as well?

What Summer Means To Me by Kristybee
Yes, I want to live the kind of charmed life evoked by these photos.

Thanks to studies done by psychologists (they never let me down), there is evidence that weather does indeed directly affect the moods of some of us. Now we can say we're not making this stuff up when we blame our crankiness on the rain (or the sun).

Beach Comber

This weekend, a friend and I made a trip down to Santa Cruz for some leisurely beach hiking. Although Santa Cruz is famous for its beach boardwalk, there are lots of small, hidden beaches along the coastline, frequented by locals. I always find one that I haven't been to, and this is one of them :) There was even a set of abandoned railroad tracks that we walked down for awhile. I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture!

Summer Night Magic

Because it's so hot outside, because I've got a cut up watermelon in the fridge, and because I miss those lazy summer evenings hanging out with nothing to do, I'm dedicating this post to feel good memories.

Yosemite in the Spring

I took a few days off about a month ago to hike and hang out with hubby/a bunch of friends in Yosemite and meant to make a post about it, but procrastination had gotten the best of me, until now.

The money shot!

So here are the views! Hiking in the gorgeous Spring weather with the best company one can find :) I was extremely tired and ready to hit the floor by the time we were done (I'm very out of shape thanks to the office), but I'm kind of tempted to go back again... Isn't it funny how easily we forget the grueling process and only remember the rewards?

Nostalgic for Summer

I'm not really a morning person. Now that it's freezing cold, I just want to wiggle deeper under my sheets when morning comes. This is what morning looks like to me.

Toronto by fieldguided

Beautiful, but cold. I know it's an image of Toronto and I don't live in Toronto. I don't care. I'm pretty damn close, if you consider an 8 hour drive close.

This is what I'd love my morning to look like.

Swan Boats by fieldguided

Ah, reminds me of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. I don't remember there being swan boats but I do remember being chased by a giant white goose near the haunted lake when I was seven. I was wearing a fluffy cream skirt with baby blue ruffles and minding my own business when a gang of ducks led by a large white goose with a bright orange beak swaggered towards me like gangsters.
